Monitoring and surveying form a crucial part of our projects to improve our product’s effectiveness and service delivery.

Contemporary monitoring methods are increasingly advanced, taking advantage of techniques such as environmental DNA sampling to determine presence of species in specific environments. This has the benefit of being fully scalable and can account for cryptic species which can be neglected by traditional methods of monitoring. Multibeam, photogrammetry and 3D models are capable of monitoring physical changes or movement over time. In addition to qualitative monitoring through videography and diver surveys, other environmental characteristics such as water chemistry, water temperature and seabed topography can be studied. This allows us to scrutinise the relationship between various environmental parameters, for example to explain the impact of seasonal or regional differences.

Exo Engineering has experience in working with a variety of academic partners to produce robust and comprehensive monitoring plans and complete surveys to your desired standard.
