Oceanology International 2024

This week, two of the team attended Oceanology International at ExCel London. As one of the largest marine events in the world, OI brings together businesses, academics and government to discuss the latest developments and showcase the most cutting-edge innovations in ocean technology.

We greatly enjoyed seeing these technologies being demonstrated, including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and the latest in marine robotics. In addition, the event allowed us to meet with potential new colleagues from Canada and many other countries. We attended panel discussions on offshore renewables, which focused on the development, commissioning and construction of windfarms, providing a valuable platform to discuss best practice and ensure sustainability and biodiversity are considered in decision-making.

We had some engaging and exciting conversations with people from all ocean sectors, discussing the most up to date surveying and monitoring techniques, as well as helping to draw focus on our nature-inclusive solutions which can reduce negative impacts and increase habitat availability around man-made structures in the oceans.
